Maria: Beyond the Ballot: The Liability of Winning!

By Kwame Nkosi Romeo

Part 1 of 2

There is a well-known 1986 calypso song on the Red Light Slane album, produced by legendary and master lyricist Shelly Tobitt: 'Only in Antigua' by Slane.

That album offers an in-depth perspective on the political drama of Antigua Labor Party (ALP) politicians in government (PIGS) trading of beads for the swine benefits of investors' kickback!

That's why in these cases, the deaths of politicians should never go unnoticed by the public: the debt owed by their acts of economic plunder. Hence, the reason for auditing REPARATIVE JUSTICE, the PIGS are no different in mindset from past enslavers, so they too must pay!

This doctrine of Colonialism is basically gluttonous greed and oppression as the new era of neocolonialism dawns, with more misappropriation of Antigua and Barbuda's land, similar to what British imperial power did in Africa through legal gerrymandering.

These lands are being handed over to descendants of enslavers, investors, and settlers, and have disenfranchised many people in Antigua and Barbuda and in Africa.

This era of land takeover by the PIGS has left many people disenfranchised in a pigsty of squalor. It represents what truly exists under ALP is a two-faced pagan of democracy and enslavement.

The burden of the Antigua Labor Party (ALP) manifesto from the era of self-enrichment, kickback, and broken promises feels like a heavy weight around your neck. Still, voters' apathy may have given the PIGS a reprieve of hope, but that is a vanishing episode of Only in Antigua!

Soon after, voters' cries will be bellowing with anger, but these are the same people who never turned up to change the consequences of livelihood challenges!

So listen to Slane and move to the rhythm of awareness that captures your mind, not the hollow Mickey Mouse and Jumby Crab Bird-Browne Mockumay caricature phrases of Fort Way for Labor Day, or Catch the Vision, Live the Dream, or Renaissance: the New Era has not brought any substantive development or uplifting, but rather glaring poverty and underdevelopment that makes us captives of state captures!

Maria, as you begin your third term since being elected on March 21, 2028, things are going to get much worse than they are today unless people listen to the clarion call for revolution in King Short Shirt's "In Spite of All," one of many of the revolutionary writer Shelly Tobitt's visionary outlook for not only political change but a new agenda:

"We can't unite speaking with divided voices

RIse; rise: rise; rise

People, open up your eyes."

But many people's eyes remain shut, leaving them in a state of conscious servitude!

Today's celebration and drinking of Moet & Chandon Brut Imperial may be short-lived. At the same time, moments of glorifying lies and burying the truth, there will arise accountability for injustices that trample on people's rights, and believe that ALP's pre-paid verdict is DEMOCRACY!

All of these issues are reflected on the 1976 Ghetto Vibes album, such as "Power and Authority" and as far back as 1960 to Lord Melodys "Ice, Ice; Cold Ice", exemplifying that the PIGS are viewed as hawkers of deceit that bring to light the revolving door of inglorious politics, and are unlike the integrity of the hardworking and dignified Iceman!

It is the status quo that keeps the working class oppressed and demoralized, with King Short Shirt magnifying that disgust directed at the political oppressors. singing loudly; they don't give a damn about anybody;

"Prostituting the country to all and sundry:" is continuing today, with the ALP being UPPized by the enrollment of ex-UPP candidates, and the many defectors becoming the chameleons of people's fate

The chameleon called in David Rudder's 'Rally Round the West Indies' calypso song of solidarity is the angry fan espousing hate toward West Indies fast bowling legend Michael Holding:

"Michael shoulda lef long time

I heard an angry brother shout

Caribbean. man that that that

That is the root of our trouble."

In the context of Antigua and Barbuda's political electioneering theatre, the message of cooperation, unity, and trust was betrayed by the many angry brothers, sparking disunity with severe consequences for the opposition, including losses that benefited the incumbent.

Thus, allowing treachery once again to hoist the trophy of unfulfilled promises and failure of governance was indeed a political tragedy!

So, Maria, if you were benevolent and empathetic, you would have been concerned about the ALP's third-generation leadership failures, which coincide with your third-term tenure, now brazen and contemptuous as ice!

Maria, why would ALP PIGS publish about progress when so many promises are unfulfilled, such as the economic powerhouse failing, and now advocating a lifestyle of superpower fantasy that is lost in imaginative words

This twilight political razmataz will never be realized; the only thing that does is ALP self-enrichment scandals that turned paupers into billionaires. That goal was corruptly achieved!

As the youngest MP ever elected, you have many years ahead of you, but think wisely and free yourself from the party's soulless agenda cloaked as a new era before a guilty plea's climax descends on you, just as the ALP's 100-page picturesque manifesto imprisons people's livelihoods.

So too will the dungeon cells of Antigua, 1735, jail those who practice the politics of destructive PIG-ONOMICS as they confront the liability of winning!
